December 3rd each year is set aside to highlight the rights and challenges of persons with disabilities.Their challenges are not limited to government efforts only but also mindset. If society is more accepting and supportive of persons with disabilities it will reduce the challenges and put them in a good stead to demand accountability from governments and state institutions for better living conditions.
We at Disability News Africa call on state institutions to implement and review long standing policies to improve the socioeconomic status of persons with disabilities.
