SisterSpeak237 invites women and girls with disabilities to apply for the ACCESS TO WORK 2019 training program. This two-week training program will take place in Yaounde, Cameroon on a date in July /August to be communicated to selected participants.
Access to Work approach to training women with disabilities was developed based on the expressed needs of the beneficiaries. After the maiden fashion show for women with disabilities, ACCESS 2019, organized by Sisterspeak237 in March 2019, where the women told their stories and expressed some needs, we realized the women went back to their homes, where they do little or nothing to learn and develop corporate skills.
Access to Work training will train these women in skills that will give them access to the corporate world . The training involves identifying, selecting, recruiting, and training women with disabilities on communication and marketing skills.
At the end of the training, trainees will exhibit the skills they learned, in the presence of potential employers. Beyond in- class training and workshop sessions, each beneficiary is paired with a mentor in a partner workplace who supports the trainee to gain hands-on experience and put their skills to test.
Through ACCESS TO WORK, 20 disadvantaged women will be supported to improve on their livelihoods through capacity building (trainings and workshops in communication and marketing) by 31st August 2019.
Application deadline 27th June 2019. Apply here
