CMG founder Seidu Agongo dedicates RTP Award To PwDs

Businessman and founder of media powerhouse Class Media Group (CMG), Alhaji Seidu Agongo, has received an honorary recognition for his strides in the media space at the 9th Radio and TV personality (RTP) Awards, which he dedicated to Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).

CMG operates Class91.3FM (Accra), Accra100.5FM (Accra), No.1FM105.3 (Accra), Kumasi104.1FM (Kumasi), Ho92.5FM (Ho), Adehye99.1FM (Kumasi), CTV (Accra), ClassFMonline.com and AccraFM.com.

At the Awards night in Accra at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, 12 October 2019, the grand citation accompanying the plaque said among other things that: ‘You are a gift to the radio and TV industry’.

True to his affection and philanthropic acts, the award was received on his behalf by Mr Ali Baba, the Secretary to the Ayawaso Disability Group of the Physically-Challenged based at Nima.

Mr Baba said he represented the businessman because the CMG founder said the award was dedicated to the disabled and vulnerable people in society whose needs were Mr Agongo’s prime concern.

“I receive this special award of recognition on behalf of Alhaji Seidu Agongo, the owner of the Class Media Group whose passion is for the poor and the vulnerable in our society. He chose me to represent him as proof of his regard for humanity and his desire to impact lives,” Mr Baba said while picking up the award.

Mr Baba later thanked Alhaji Agongo and the CMG Group for the honour to represent them.

On the night,  Accra 100.5FM’s ‘Accra Kasiebo’ took home the Best Akan News Award. As a group, CMG had five nominations at this year’s RTP.

Alhaji Agongo has passion for the media industry and continues to invest in setting up business units across the various cities.

Three more of such units will soon join the CMG family in Tamale, Takoradi and Sunyani.
